CHAPTER 681.


AN ACT to repeal sections fifty -two, fifty-three, and fifty-


four of article five of the Code of Public Local Laws, title


"Calvert County," sub-title "County Commissioners."


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That sections fifty-two, fifty-three and fifty-four


of article five of the Code of Public Local Laws of the State


of Maryland, title "Calvert County," sub-title "County


"Commissioners," be and the same are hereby repealed and


the following: enacted in lieu thereof.


SEC. 2. And he it enacted, That the county commissioners


annually in the month of April, shall by notice inserted in


a newspaper published in Calvert County for at least two

tion of bids invite proposals to be made to them for all

printing and publishing to be done for the said county, by


the county commissioners for the period of one year begin-


ning on the first Monday in May following; said bids shall


be sealed and endorsed " proposals for public printing for


Calvert County," and addressed to the clerk of the board of


county commissioners, who shall safely keep all such pro-


posals and deliver them to the said board on the final day


named in the notice inviting said proposals ; and on


the said final day named in said notice, the county com-


missioners shall receive from the clerk and publicly open


said bids, and award the contract for county printing


and publishing for the period of one year begiuning on


the first Monday in May, to the newspaper published in


said county making the lowest bid therefor; provided said


bid does not exceed the sum of seven hundred dollars ;


and provided also that all printing under this section,


which shall include registration notices, sheriff's elections


notices and all printing or publishing done by order of

the county commissioners, shall be given to some news-

paper published in the said county.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That in no event shall the


printing mentioned in the preceding section be given to

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take, effect


from the date of its passage.
