CHAPTER 673.


AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of


an iron safe for the Executive Department, of new regis-


tration books for Baltimore City and for printing pamphlet


copies of the election laws of Maryland.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the sum of thirty-five hundred dollars, or


so much thereof as may be necessary for the purpose, is

hereby appropriated for the purchase of an iron safe for the

Executive Department ; for the necessary registration books


for Baltimore City, required to be purchased by the Gov-


ernor, and for a sufficient number of pamphlet copies of the


election laws of the State for the use of registration and


election officers, the necessary expenses incurred in carrying


out the provisions of this act, to be expended by the


Governor, or under his direction, shall be paid by requisi-


tions of the Comptroller upon the Treasurer, upon proper


vouchers certified by the Governor to be correct.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect


from the date of its passage.

Effective.

CHAPTER 674.


AN ACT to amend the charter of the Baltimore, Canton


and Point Breeze Railroad Company of Baltimore City,


by authorizing it to lease, purchase or aid other railroads


or to consolidate with the same.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the charter of the Baltimore, Canton and


Point Breeze Railway Company of Baltimore City, be and

shall be authorized aud empowered to consolidate with such


other roads as it may cross or connect with to aid such


roads in the construction and extension of their roads by


means of subscription to their capital stock or otherwise,


and to lease or purchase such road or roads.

also have the following powers, to wit ; to buy, sell, build
