CHAPTER 641.
|
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to add a new section, empowering the Board of
|
|
|
|
|
Liquor License Commissioners of Baltimore City, to sum-
|
|
|
|
|
mon witnesses, compel their attendance, and admiuster
|
|
|
|
|
oaths to article four of the Code of Public Local Laws,
|
|
|
|
|
title "City of Baltimore," sub-title " Liquor and Intoxi-
|
|
|
|
|
cating Drinks," to come in after section 653 F of said
|
|
|
|
|
article and to be designated as section 633 U.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
New
|
Maryland, That the following new section be added to the
|
|
|
|
section.
|
Code of Public Local Laws, article 4, ittle " City of Balti-
|
|
|
|
|
more," sub-title " Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks," to be
|
|
|
|
|
designated as section 653 U, to come in after section T, and
|
|
|
|
|
to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
|
653 U. For the purpose of all hearings and inquiries
|
|
|
|
|
which the Board of Liquor License Commissioners are
|
|
|
|

|
authorized to have and make, they are hereby authorized to
|
|
|
|
summons
for wit-
|
issue summons for witnesses, and administer to them oaths
|
|
|
|
nesses.
|
or affirmations, and all summons, so issued, shall be served
|
|
|
|
|
by the police force of the city of Baltimore. If any witness
|
|
|
|
|
so summoned shall refuse or neglect to attend, or attending,
|
|
|
|
|
refuse to testify, the said board shall report the facts to the
|
|
|
|
|
Superior Court of Baltimore City, which is hereby authorized
|
|
|
|
|
and' directed to proceed by attachment against said wit-
|
|
|
|
|
nesses, in all respects as if said neglect or refusal had been
|
|
|
|
|
by witnesses summoned to appear in said court in cases
|
|
|
|
|
pending before it.
|
|
|
|
Effective.
|
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall
|
|
|
|
|
take effect from the date of its passage.
|
|
|
|
|
