CHAPTER 569.


AN ACT to repeal section 49 of article 9 of the code of


"Public Local Laws " title Charles, County, sub-title


" County Commissioners and County Treasurer" and to


re-enact the same with amendments, and to add two


additional sections thereto to be known as section 49 A


and section 49 B.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repealed

Maryland, That section 49 of article 9 of the code of " Public

re-enacted,

Local Laws" title Charles County, sub-title "County Com-


missioners and County Treasurer" be and the same is hereby


repealed and re-enacted as follows :

SEC. 49. There shall be five county commissioners for

Charles County until Tuesday after the first Monday in

County.

November eighteen hundred and ninety -three, after which


time the number shall be reduced to three.


49 A. That three of the county commissioners elected on

the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November

office.

eighteen hundred and ninety-one, to wit : Samuel Hawkins,


Washington Hicks and John W. Golden shall hold their


office for the term of two years from the date of their elec-


tion that one of the county commissioners elected at said


election, to wit : William F. Simms shall hold his office for


the term of four years and that one of said county commis-


sioners elected at said election, to wit : Constantine A.


Bowling shall hold his office for the term of six years, and


all oft the said commissioners shall hold their said offices


until their successors are duly elected and qualified ; on the


first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in the


year eighteen hundred and ninety -three and every second


year thereafter there shall be elected by the qualified voters


of Charles County one commissioner for the term of six years.


49 B. And the county shall be divided into three commis-
