SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

CHAPTER 543.


AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claims


of C. G. Savage, A. S. Abell & Co., Chas. C. Fulton &


Co., Isaac Friedenwald, the Herald Publishing Company,


the Daily News Association, Otto Sutro, F. Raine and


Herbert F. Moore, for work and labor done, material


furnished and services rendered to the Leonard Calvert


"Monument Committee."


WHEREAS, by chapter 419 of the acts of 1890, J. Thomas

Preamble

Scharf, E. W. LeCompte and Washington Wilkinson were


appointed a committee to have erected over the grave of


Leonard Calvert the first proprietary Governor of Maryland


a suitable monument and


WHEREAS, sundry expenses were incurred in furtherance

of the provisions of said chapter 419 of the acts of 1890 ; and


WHEREAS, no provision or appropriation has been made

for the payment of the same ; therefore,


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

To pay.

Maryland, That the treasurer of the State of Mary land upon


the warrant of the comptroller of the treasury, who is hereby


authorized and directed to issue the same be and he is


hereby directed to pay as per vouchers filed the following


claims : To C. C. Savage the sum of three hundred and


thirteen dollars and eighty -nine cents ; to A. S. Abell & Co.


the sum of thirty dollars and thirty-five cents ; to Chas. C.


Fulton & Co., the sum of thirty dollars and eighty cents ; to


Isaac Friedenwald, the sum of eighteen dollars and fifty


cents ; to the Herald Publishing Company, the sum of twelve


dollars and fifty cents ; to the Daily News Association, the


sum of five dollars ; to Herbert F. Moore, the sum of one


hundred and thirty-five dollars ; to F. Raine, the sum of five


dollars and twenty cents, and to Otto Sutro, the sum of


two dollars and eighty-five cents or to their respective


assignees or attorneys for work and labor done, material


furnished and services rendered to the Leonard Calvert
