AN ACT to change the mode of appointing the treasurer of

|
|
|
|
Garrett County by making him elective by the people
|
|
|
|
|
instead of being appointed by the county commissioners
|
|
|
|
|
and to repeal and re-enact section forty-two of article
|
|
|
|
|
twelve of the Code of Public Local Laws of Garrett
|
|
|
|
|
County, sub-title "County Treasurer."
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That section forty-two of article twelve of the
|
Re pealed
|
|
|
|
Code of Public Local Laws of Garrett County, sub-title
|
and
re-enacted.
|
|
|
|
" County Treasurer," be and the same is hereby repealed
|
|
|
|
|
and re-enacted so as to stand and read as follows :
|
|
|
|
|
42. The County Commissioners of Garrett County on the
|
|
|
|
|
third Tuesday of April in the year eighteen hundred and
|
County
|
|
|
|
ninety -two, or as soon as may be thereafter, shall elect a
|
Commis-
sioners of
|
|
|
|
suitable person of good repute and business qualifications
|
Garrett
County
|
|
|
|
to be county treasurer for said county, who shall execute
|
|
|
|
|
bonds and qualify as hereinafter prescribed and shall hold
|
|
|
|
|
the office for two years after such appointment or until his
|
|
|
|
|
successor is elected and qualified.
|
|
|
|
|
42 A. That the legal voters of said Garrett County, shall
|
|
|
|
|
on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, eigh-
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
