CHAPTER 494.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to amend the charter of the "M. J. Grove Lime
|
|
|
|
Company of Frederick County," by authorizing the said
|
|
|
|
company to purchase and hold lands in this and other
|
|
|
|
States, districts and territories of the United States, to
|
|
|
|
enlarge its powers, increase the capital stock and perpetu-
|
|
|
|
ate the existence of said corporation.
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, the " M. J. Grove Lime Company of Frederick
|
|
|
|
County," a corporation created by certificate and existing
|
|
|

under the Code of Public General Laws of the State of Mary-
|
|
|
|
land, providing for the creation of corporation s as will appear
|
|
|
|
from the record of corporations in the office of the clerk of
|
|
|
|
the Circuit Court for Frederick County, by article second of
|
|
|
|
its certificate of incorporation is authorized and empowered
|
|
|
|
to conduct a business for the manufacture and sale of lime,
|
|
|
|
and for the purchase and sale of hard and soft coal, coke,
|
|
|
|
wood, dynamite, powder, fuse and general merchandise,
|
|
|
|
and for the sale of limestone, and with that end in view, to
|
|
|
|
purchase such property, real and personal, as may be neces-
|
|
|
|
sary to accomplish its objects, and

|
|
|
WHEREAS, the said corporation is desirous of extending
|
|
|

its operations in this State and other States, districts and

territories of the United States ; therefore,
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly, That

|
|

the charter of the "M. J. Grove Lime Company of

|
Frederick County," a corporation of the State of Maryland
|
|
|
|
created by certificate under the provisions of article
|
|
|
|
twenty -three of the Maryland Code of Public General Laws
|
|
|
|
entitled " Corporations," be and the same is hereby amended
|
|
|
|
and the said corporation is hereby authorized to purchase,
|
|
|
|
hold, enjoy and possess real estate in this State and in other
|
|
|
|
districts and territories in the United States, and with full
|
|
|
|
power to sell and convey the same as any individual might
|
|
|
|
or could do, and with full power to establish and build kilns
|
|
|
|
for the manufacture of lime in this State and in other States,
|
|
|
|
districts and territories in the United States, and with full
|
|
|
|
power to establish stores and warehouses for the purpose of
|
|
|
|
storage and sale of aiticles manufactured by said corporation
