CHAPTER 485.


AN ACT to repeal the act of General Assembly of Mary-


land, passed at the January session, eighteen hundred and


ninety, entitled an act to amend article fifty -two of the


Code of Public General Laws, title "Justices of the


Peace" (except as to the city of Baltimore), by adding a


new section thereto to follow section eleven, and to be


designated as section eleven A, and to be under the new


sub-title "Criminal Jurisdiction," and to re-enact the


said act with amendments so as to except Queen Anne's,


Harford, Talbot and Frederick Counties.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland. That the act of eighteen hundred and ninety,


chapter six hundred and eighteen, entitled "An act to

amend article fifty-two of the Code of Public General Laws,

and
re-enacted

title ' Justices of the Peace' " (except as to the city of Balti-


more), by adding a new section thereto to follow section


eleven, and to be designated as section eleven A, and to be

by confinement in the penitentiary, which may be committed


within their respective jurisdictions; and shall have juris-


diction in all prosecutions or proceedings for the recovery


of any penalty for doing or omitting to do any act, the doing


of which, or the omission to do which is made punishable
