the same power to distrain for the taxes so levied as the col-


lector of county taxes, and shall collect and pay the same


to the burgess and commissioners ; and the said burgess and


commissioners shall not make contracts or enter into any


obligations which will require an expenditure of money in


excess of the levy for the year.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 479.


AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Anne


Arundel County to borrow money on the credit of the


county for the purpose of repairing, enlarging and


remodeling the court house of said county to issue bonds


for the payment of the same and to levy taxes on the


assessable property of said county to redeem said bonds


and to pay the interest thereon, and to provide for the


repairing, enlarging and remodeling and furnishing of


said court house.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the court house in the city of Annapolis in

them shall be necessary fort the decision of all questions


which may arise in the discharge of their duties ; all vacan-


cies occurring in said building committee, whether from


death, resignation, refusal to act, or otherwise, shall be


filled by the county commissioners.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said building committee


shall as speedily as possible procure and adopt a plan and


specifications for the repair, enlargement and remodeling of
