the same power to distrain for the taxes so levied as the col-

lector of county taxes, and shall collect and pay the same
|
|
|
|
to the burgess and commissioners ; and the said burgess and
|
|
|
|
commissioners shall not make contracts or enter into any
|
|
|
|
obligations which will require an expenditure of money in
|
|
|
|
excess of the levy for the year.
|
|
|
Effective.
|
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
|
|

CHAPTER 479.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Anne
|
|
|
|
Arundel County to borrow money on the credit of the
|
|
|
|
county for the purpose of repairing, enlarging and
|
|
|
|
remodeling the court house of said county to issue bonds
|
|
|
|
for the payment of the same and to levy taxes on the
|
|
|
|
assessable property of said county to redeem said bonds
|
|
|
|
and to pay the interest thereon, and to provide for the
|
|
|
|
repairing, enlarging and remodeling and furnishing of
|
|
|
|
said court house.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That the court house in the city of Annapolis in
|
|
|

Anne Arundel County be repaired, enlarged, and remodeled

with all necessary rooms and offices for the purposes of said
|
|

Annapolis.

county court house in a proper fire-proof manner, and that

the same be furnished with all the necessary cases and
|
|
|
|
furniture for the use and accommodation of the courts and
|
|
|

offices in said building.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That James Revell, Edward C.
|

Gantt, James M. Munroe, John C. Bannon and Wilbur F.

|
|
com-
mittee.
|
Petherbridge, be and they are hereby constituted a building
|
|
|
|
committee for the purpose of having said court house
|
|
|
|
repaired, enlarged, and remodeled and furnished, three of
|
|
|
|
whom shall form a quorum, and the concurrence of three of
|
|
|
|
them shall be necessary fort the decision of all questions
|
|
|
|
which may arise in the discharge of their duties ; all vacan-
|
|
|
|
cies occurring in said building committee, whether from
|
|
|
|
death, resignation, refusal to act, or otherwise, shall be
|
|
|
|
filled by the county commissioners.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said building committee
|
|
|
|
shall as speedily as possible procure and adopt a plan and
|
|
|
|
specifications for the repair, enlargement and remodeling of
|
|
|
|
|
|
