AND WHEREAS, it has been further suggested that certain
|
|

mentioned are not therein named with strict technical

accuracy by their several and respective corporate titles :

AND WHEREAS, it is just and expedient that full effect

should be given to the benevolent purposes of the said

testator ; therefore,
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That the sanction of the Legislature be and it is
|
|

hereby given to any and all gifts, devise or bequests con-

quests of

tained in the last will and testament of Edward Power, late

|
|
Power.

of Baltimore County, deceased, for and in favor of the
|
|
|
|
|
several corporations designated in the said will as the
|
|
|
|
|
Sisters of Mercy, at Mt. Washington, in Baltimore County,
|
|
|
|
|
Maryland; the trustees of the Roman Catholic Asylum for
|
|
|
|
|
Widows, in the city of Baltimore ; the House of the Good
|
|
|
|
|
Shepherd, in the city of Baltimore ; St. Vincent's De Paul
|
|
|
|
|
Benevolent Association on Front street, in the city of Bal-
|
|
|
|
|
timore ; St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys of the city of
|
|
|
|
|
Baltimore, and the Little Sisters of the Poor, in the city of
|
|
|
|
|
Baltimore ; provided however tliat nothing herein contained
|
|
|
|
|
shall be construed as an assertion that such legislative
|
|
|
|
|
sanction was or is essential to the validity of any one or
|
|
|
|
|
more of the said gifts, devises or bequests.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 2. And be it further enacted,' That each one of
|
|
|
|
|
the several corporations of tliis State designated in such
|
|
|
|
|
manner as is set forth in the first section of this act by the
|
|
|
|
Corpora-
tions to
|
testator therein named, shall receive and enjoy any gift
|
|
|
|
enjoy any
devise, &c
|
devise or bequest to it in his aforesaid last will and testa-
|
|
|
|
|
ment contained as fully and to the same effect as if the
|
|
|
|
|
said gift, devise or bequest had been made to it by its true
|
|
|
|
|
legal accurate and proper corporate name, provided always,
|
|
|
|
|
that the said several corporations shall be able and entitled
|
|
|
|
|
to show, if necessary, that they are respectively those
|
|
|
|
|
so designated as is hereinbefore set forth by the said
|
|
|
|
|
testator.

|
|
|
Effective.
|
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act shall
|
|
|
|
|
take effect from the date of its passage.
|
|
|
|
|
