LAWS OF MARYLAND.


Anne Arundel County ; and thereafter the number of


County Commissioners for said county shall be three; said


commissioners shall meet at their office in the court house


at Annapolis for the transaction of the duties of their office


at least one day in each week, and on such other days as


they may deem necessary.


112 A. The five county commissioners elected at the general

their successors are elected and qualified and shall receive


the compensation now provided by law.


112. B. The three county commissioners elected at the

and the Governor so soon, as he conveniently may after


receiving the official returns of said election, shall deter-


mine which pf said three commissioners shall hold his


office for the term of six years, which for the term of four


years and which for the term of two years, and in con-


formity to said determination issue to them their commis-


sions for their several terms thereafter beginning at the


general election on the Tuesday next after the first Monday


of November in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-five


and at every general election on the same day in every


second year one county commissioner for said county shall


be elected for the term of six years from the date of his


election, who shall be ineligible to succeed himself or to


hold the office of County Commissioner for Anne Arundel


County for two years from the expiration of his term of


office ; provided that no two commissioners shall be from


one and the same district at one and the same time. After


the number of county commissioners has been reduced to


three, in case of a vacancy occurring in any one of said


offices by death, resignation or otherwise, the Governor


shall appoint a proper person to fill such vacancy until the


next general election, and if the term of the commissioner


whose term of office shall have become vacant as aforesaid,


be not then completed a commissioner shall be elected to


serve only until the expiration of the term for which the


original incumbent was elected.
