CHAPTER 44.


AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section


393 and 396 of article twenty-seven of the Code of Public


General Laws, title " Crimes and Punishments," sub-title


" State Penitentiary."


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That section 393 and 396 of article twenty-seven
of the Code of Public General Laws, title " Crimes and Pun-


ishments," sub-title "Penitentiary," be and the same are

393. The warden of the penitentiary shall annually appoint

erick County, Maryland, or within two miles thereof.

Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for the clerk of the


Circuit Court of Frederick County, Maryland, to issue license


to any person or persons to sell spirituous or fermented
