CHAPTER 406.

AN ACT to add a new section to article four of the Code of


Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore," under the


new sub-title " Sheriff's Fees," to follow immediately after


section seven hundred and ninety-nine, and to be designa-


ted as section "seven hundred and ninety -nine A."


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That a new section be and the same is hereby


added to article four of the Code of Public Local Laws, title

"City of Baltimore," under the new sub-title "Sheriff's


Fees," to follow immediately after section seven hundred


and ninety -nine and be designated as section "seven hun-


dred and ninety-nine A," and to read as follows :


799 A. The sheriff of Baltimore City shall hereafter receive


for the services hereinafter recited fees as follows :


For serving an attachment of contempt and return, one

Sheriff's
fees.

dollar and fifty cents.


For an arrest on warrant and return in criminal cases,


one dollar.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect


from the date of its passage.

Effective

Approved April 7th, 1892.


CHAPTER 407.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claims
of John Johnson, James Campbell and Thomas Evans, on
account of expenses incurred and time lost by reason of
the purchase from the State of Maryland of the schooner
" Anson," purchased by said Johnson under forfeiture for
violating the oyster laws of the State, from John G. Crane,
sheriff of Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

WHEREAS, under a writ of forfeiture issued by Dennis
Claude, Esquire, a justice of the peace of the State of Mary-
