at a point at or near the termination of the Red Car Line on
West Baltimore Street in Baltimore City, it continues on
said street to the Calverton Road, thence on east side of said
road to Edmondsbn Avenue, thence on Edmondson Avenue
to the Frederick Road, then following the said road to the
recommencement of Edmondson Avenue, thence on said
avenue to Nunnery Lane, following said lane southerly to
the recommencement of Edmondson Avenue, thence on said
avenue to a road usually known as Ingleside Avenue, run-
ning on this road southwardly to Beaumont Avenue, thence
on Beaumont Avenue, westwardly to a road known as Ben-
zinger's Lane or the Rolling Road, thence by a direct line
as near as practicable to and through Ellicott City, with
the power of constructing said railway through the entire
main streets of said city with power also to build an exten-
sion to the Union Manufacturing Company's property of
Baltimore County along the east side of the Patapscp River
in Baltimore County, and said corporation is also empowered
at its option to erect so much of said railway as would other-
wise be built on the Frederick Turnpike on the property
situated immediately to the south of said Frederick Turn-
pike, and when necessary on account of grade or for other
reasons, said company is hereby empowered to construct
said rail way on lands lying ad] acent to the route hereinabove
described, provided however, it shall first obtain the consent
to erect so much of its railway as is located upon any of
the streets of Baltimore City or Ellicott City from the
mayors and city councils of said cities, and provided further,
that it shall first obtain the consent to erect so much of its
railway as is located upon any of the public highways of
Baltimore County or Howard County form the County Com-
missioners of Baltimore County or Howard County as the
case may be, and should the mayor and city council of Balti-
more City, or Ellicott City, or the County Commissioners
of Baltimore County, or Howard County, as the case may be,
designate streets or public highways other than those above
mentioned for the routes of said railway between the place
of beginning and terminus of said railway, then said corpo-
ration is hereby further empowered to construct, maintain
and operate its railway in the aforementioned manner upon
such other streets or public highways so designated.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted. That the said company be and
it is hereby authorized in order to construct said railway on
such land or property of any individual or corporation, or
on such private right of any corporation or individual as it
may be necessary to occupy iu order to construct said rail-
way between the points authorized by this act, and where
