CHAPTER 284.


AN ACT to authorize the mayor and city council of Balti-


more to levy special assessments, and to provide for the


collection thereof, upon property binding on any street,


lane or alley of said city or part thereof, which may have


been graded, paved or curbed or regraded, repaved or


recurbed under any ordinance or ordinances of the mayor


and city council, which ordinance provided for assessing


the whole or any portion of the cost of such work upon


the property binding upon such street, laue or alley, or


part thereof, and which assessments from any cause have


not been fully collected by said mayor and city council.


WHEREAS, certain streets, lanes and alleys, or parts


thereof in the city of Baltimore, have been graded, paved or

of the mayor and city council, which provided for the assess-


ment of the whole or certain portions of the cost of such


work upon the property binding on such streets, lanes or


alleys, or parts thereof, so improved, some of which assess-


ments, have been paid, and other portions tliereof, remain


uncollected, although the mayor and city council have paid


the whole cost of such improvements.


AND WHEREAS, it is just and proper that all property


which may have been benefitted by such work should pay it's

erty may have been specially benefitted, therefore ;


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
