County shall be made thirty feet wide, except where the

road. All new roads shall be well drained and graded, and


it shall be the duty of the county commissioners to reject all


such roads if not put in the most complete order ; and they


may make at any time such further rules and regulations


as they may deem necessary for the better keeping of public


roads in said county not inconsistent with the sub-title of


this article or of the Public General Laws.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect


from the date of its passage.

Effective.

CHAPTER 278.


AN ACT to repeal sections 2, 5, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17,


20, 20 A, 21, 28, 33, and 34 of article 72 of the Code of


Public General Laws, title " Oysters," and to re-enact


the same with amendments, and to add certain new sec-


tions to said article to follow in proper order the respec-


tive sections in order of precedence and to be designated


as sections 20 B, 20 C, 20 D, 20 E, 20 F, 20 G, 20 H,


and 21 A.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That sections 2, 5, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 1C, 17, 20,
20 A, 21, 28, 33, and. 34 of article seventy-two of the Code

Amend-
ments

of Public General Laws, title " Oysters " be and the same


are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, and


that certain new sections be and the same are hereby added


to said article to follow the numerical sections of said arti-


cle in order of precedence to be designated as sections 20 B,


20 C, 20 D, 20 E, 20 F, 20 G, 20 H, and 21 A to read as to


said respective sections, as follows :


2. The Comptroller of the Treasury shall upon applica-


tion of any person who has been a resident of this State
