and ninety, chapter one hundred and twenty-three, and the


said treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to pay said


sum of money, said claim having been duly approved by
said treasury officials according to section fifty-two of article


three of the constitution.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect


from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 249.


AN ACT to repeal section fifty-one of article six of the


Code of Public Local Laws, title " Caroline County,"


sub-title, " County Commissioners," and to re-enact the


same with amendments, and to add four new sections


thereto to be called section fifty-one A, section fifty-one


B, section fifty-one C, and section fifty -one D.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That "sectiou fifty -one of the Code of Public

Repealed
and

Local Laws, title " Caroline County," sub- title, " County

re-enacted,

Commissioners," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-


enacted with amendments and that four new sections be


added thereto to be called section fifty-one A, section fifty-


one B, section fifty-one C, and section fifty-one D. to read


as follows :

County, elected at the general election on the Tuesday next


after the first Monday in the month of November in the


year eighteen hundred and ninety -one, shall hold their


office for two years from the time of their election and shall


receive the same compensation now provided by law.


SEC. 51 B. There shall be elected at the next general

dred and ninety-three, three County Commissioners for


Caroline County who shall receive the same compensation


as is now allowed by law.


SEC. 51 C. The three County Commissioners elected at


said general election in the year eighteen hundred and
