recorded opposite the name stricken off. At the end of each


day's registries, or revision of registration, one of said


registers in the city of Baltimore, or the register in the


county, shall sign his name or initials, immediately under


the last name registered, under each letter in each of said


duplicate registries, so that no new name can be added


without discovery, and should any of said officers of regis-


tration of the several counties of this State, be unable to sit


and register the qualified voters of their respective election


districts, on the final day of the October sittings for regis-


tration, by reason of sickness, or other unavoidable cause,


all persons qualified to be registered who shall appear in


person at the place of registration on said day, and who


shall fail to be registered by reason of such disability of the


officer of registration, shall have the same right of appeal


as if they had been refused registration by the officers of


registration, the provisions of this section so far as they


refer to the striking off of any names from the registry lists,


shall not apply to the action of the officers of registration in


the city of Baltimore, in the years in which there is an entire


new registration in said city as hereinafter provided.

Effective

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take


effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 240.


AN ACT to add certain sections under the sub-title, " Hur-


lock " to article ten of the Code of Public Local Laws,


title "Dorchester County."

New

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

sections.

Maryland, That the following sections under the sub-title


"Hurlock" be added to article ten of the Code of Public


Local Laws, title '' Dorchester County " and that they be


numbered as herein specified :


325. The inhabitants of Hnrlock shall be and are hereby

made a body corporate by the name of the Commissioners


of Hurlock and as such shall have perpetual succesion and


by that name may sue and be sued, and may purchase and


hold real and personal estate for the use and benefit of said


corporation and may dispose of the same, and may use a


common seal which they may change at pleasure.


326. The corporate limits of said village shall be included


within the following metes and bounds, to-wit : Beginning
