CHAPTER 226.
|
|
|
|
|
AN ACT for the assistance of the Home and Infirmary of
|
|
|
|
|
Western Maryland in the city of Cumberland.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That the treasurer on the warrant of the comp-
|

|
troller, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay
|
Western
Maryland
|
|
|
|
to the order of the board of directors or managers for the
|
Infirmary.
|
|
|
|
Home and Infirmary of Western Maryland in the city of
|
|
|
|
|
Cumberland the sum of ten thousand dollars to be used in
|
|
|
|
|
erecting a suitable building and in maintaining the same as
|
|
|
|
|
a home and hospital for sick, friendless, destitute and infirm
|
|
|
|
|
persons, and said sum shall be payable as follows, viz. : five
|
|
|
|
|
thousand dollars in the year eighteen hundred and ninety -
|
|
|
|
|
two and five thousand dollars in the year eighteen hundred
|
|
|
|
|
and ninety -three.
|
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2 And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
|
|
|
|
|
from the date of its passage.
|

AN ACT to repeal the fourth section of the act of the Gen-

|
|
|
|
eral Assemby of Maryland passed at January session,
|
|
|
|
|
eighteen hundred and ninety, chapter six hundred and
|
|
|
|
|
eight, entitled "An act to provide for State taxation on
|
|
|
|
|
the revenues of certain foreign corporations mentioned in
|
|
|
|
|
this act accruing from business done in the State of
|
|
|
|
|
Maryland," and to re-enact the same with amendments.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That the fourth section of the act of the General
|
|
|
|
|
Assembly passed at the January session, eighteen hundred
|

and ninety, chapter six hundred and eight, entitled " An

act to provide for State taxation on the revenues of certain
|
|

|

|
|
is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows, viz :
|
|
|
|
|
SEC. 4. That every such telephone company shall pay to
|
|
|
|
|
the State treasurer a tax of two per centum upon the gross
|
|
|
|
|
amount of its receipts in this State, each such oil or pipe
|
