CHAPTER 226.


AN ACT for the assistance of the Home and Infirmary of


Western Maryland in the city of Cumberland.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the treasurer on the warrant of the comp-

troller, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay

to the order of the board of directors or managers for the

Infirmary.

Home and Infirmary of Western Maryland in the city of


Cumberland the sum of ten thousand dollars to be used in


erecting a suitable building and in maintaining the same as


a home and hospital for sick, friendless, destitute and infirm


persons, and said sum shall be payable as follows, viz. : five


thousand dollars in the year eighteen hundred and ninety -


two and five thousand dollars in the year eighteen hundred


and ninety -three.


SEC. 2 And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect


from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 227.


AN ACT to repeal the fourth section of the act of the Gen-


eral Assemby of Maryland passed at January session,


eighteen hundred and ninety, chapter six hundred and


eight, entitled "An act to provide for State taxation on


the revenues of certain foreign corporations mentioned in


this act accruing from business done in the State of


Maryland," and to re-enact the same with amendments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the fourth section of the act of the General


Assembly passed at the January session, eighteen hundred
