each county shall deliver to the sheriff of the county the

ballots, specimen ballots and cards of instruction ; the said
|
|
|
|
two sets of ballots shall be delivered in separate sealed

|

packages with marks on the outside clearly designatiug the
|
|
|
|
several polling places for which the respective packages are
|
|
|
|
intended, and the number of ballots of each kind enclosed,
|
|
|
|
and the said board of police and sheriffs shall give their
|
|
|
|
receipts therefor ; a record shall be kept by said board of
|
|
|
|
supervisors of the time when such delivery was made and of
|
|
|
|
the particulars thereof, and the same with said receipts
|
|
|
|
shall be preserved for one year, unless a contest hath
|
|
|
|
occurred with reference to any office which was embraced in
|
|
|
.
|
the ballots and then. until the contest is ended when they
|
|
|
|
shall be destroyed.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
|
|
|

CHAPTER 219.

AN ACT to repeal section 810 of article 4 of the Public
|
|
|
|
Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title " Streets,
|
|
|
|
Bridges and Highways," and to re-enact the same with
|
|
|
|
amendments.
|
|
|
|
SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
Repealed
and
|
Maryland, That section 810 of article 4 of the Public Local
|
|
|
re-enacted
|
Laws, title "City of Baltimore, "sub-title " Streets, Bridges
|
|
|
|
and Highways." be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
|
|
|
|
enacted so as to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
SEC. 810. They shall have and are vested with full power
|
|
|

and authority to provide by ordinance for the grading,
|
|
|
ordinance

shelling, graveling, paving and kerbing, or for the regrad-
|
|
|

grading,
|
ing, reshelling, regraveling, repaving and rekerbing, of any
|

street, lane or alley in said city, or part thereof now con-
|
|
|

demned, ceded, opened, as a public highway, or which may
|
|
|
|
hereafter be condemned, cided, opened, widened, straight-
|
|
|
|
ened or altered according to the laws and ordinances regu- .
|
|
|
|
lating the same ; and also for assessing the cost of any such
|
|
|
|
work in whole or in part upon the property binding upon
|
|
|
|
such street, lane or alley, or part thereof according to such
|
|
|
|
rule or basis as the mayor and city council may determine,
|
|
|
|
and for collecting said assessments in such manner as they
|
|
|
|
