SEC. 8. To carry out the provisions of this act the sum
|
|
|
|

of fifty thousand dollars or so much thereof as may be neces-

sary, is hereby appropriated, and the Comptroller of the
|
|
|
|
|
State is hereby authorized to draw his warrants upon the
|
|
|
|
|
the State Treasurer for the payment of such requisitions,
|
|
|
|
|
to the extent of this appropriation, as may from time to
|
|
|
|
|
time be made upon him by the Board of Managers ; the
|
|
|
|
|
said requisition to be signed by the president and treasurer
|
|
|
|
|
of the board and approved by the Governor, and to be ac-
|
|
|
|
|
companied by the estimates of the expenses, to the payment
|
|
|
|
|
of which the money so drawn is to be applied.
|
|
|
|
|
SEC. 9. That in addition to the sum of fifty thousand
|
|
|
|

sum of ten thousand dollars is hereby appropriated as a

contingent fund to be under the exclusive control of the
|
|
|
|

governor and to be used by the governor only in case an

emergency may arise which will require an additional
|
|
|
|
|
amount to be expended by the State of Maryland for the
|
|
|
|
|
purpose of the displaying of the State of Maryland at the
|
|
|
|
|
said World's Columbian Exposition of 1893.

|
|
|
SEC. 10. And be it enacted. That this act shall take effect
|
|
|
|

AN ACT to authorize and empower the mayor and city

council of Baltimore to appropriate a sum of money not

|
|
|
|
to exceed ten thousand dollars, to the erection of a monu-
|
|
|
|
|
ment in the said city of Baltimore, to the memory of
|
|
|
|
|
Maryland patriots and soldiers of the war of the Ameri-
|
|
|
|
|
can Revolution.

|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Monument

Maryland, That the mayor and city council of Baltimore,
be and it is hereby authorized and empowered to appropriate
|
|
|
|

soldiers

such a sum of money not to exceed ten thousand dollars, as
|
|
|

it may deem proper, towards the erection of a monument in
|
|
|
|
|
the cfty of Baltimore, to the memory of the Maryland
|
|
|
|
|
patriots and soldiers of the war of the American Revolution.
