AN ACT to repeal section two hundred and thirty-three of

article twenty-seven of the Code of Public General Laws,

title " Crimes and Punishment," sub-title "Rape," and

SECTION 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That section two hundred and thirty-three of

article twenty-seven of the Code of Public General Laws,

repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows :

SEC. 233. If any person shall carnally know and abuse any

woman child under the age of fourteen years, or knowingly

carnal knowledge, shall be deemed felony, and the offender

being convicted thereof, shall, at the discretion of the court

more than twenty -one years.
