Treasury a detailed statement of said expenses, and shall


also print the same in the book of statistics.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

CHAPTER 30.


AN ACT to authorize and empower the Chevy Chase Land


Company of Montgomery County, Maryland, to exercise


certain of the powers, and carry on certain of its operations


in the District of Columbia.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the Chevy Chase Land Company of Mont-


gomery County, Maryland, be, and it is hereby authorized

Empow-
ered

and empowered to buy, hold, sell, mortgage, lease, improve,


dispose of, or otherwise deal in lands lying wholly in the


District of Columbia, so far as may not be inconsistent with


the laws of the said District of Columbia.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 31.


AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money therein mentioned


to pay the claim of Henry J. Hebb, late Treasurer of Bal-


timore County, and collector of State and county taxes


for the said county, for over-payment on taxes for eighteen


hundred and eighty-seven to the State of Maryland.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be, and he


is hereby authorized and directed to issue his warrant on the

Treasurer of this State to pay Henry J. Hebb, late Treasurer


of Baltimore County and collector of State and county taxes


for said county, two hundred and forty-three dollars and


seventy-three cents, the same being due said Henry J. Hebb


for amount overpaid by him to the State of Maryland for


taxes charged to him for collection for the year eighteen


hundred and eighty-seven, the same having been recom-


mended by the officers of the Treasury Department.
