CHAPTER 190.
|
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to add two new sections to article 8 of the Code of
|
|
|
|
|
Public Local Laws, title ' ' Cecil County, " sub - title ' ' Coun ty
|
|
|
|
|
Commissioners," to follow immediately after section 106,
|
|
|
|
|
and to be designated as sections 106 A and 106 B.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That two new sections be, and the same are
|
|
|
|
New
|
hereby added to article eight of the Code of Public Local
|
|
|
|
section
added
|
Laws, title "Cecil County," sub- title " County Commission-
|
|
|
|
|
ers," to follow immediately after section one hundred and
|
|
|
|
|
six, and to be designated as "one hundred and six A" and
|
|
|
|
|
"one hundred and six B," and to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
|
106 A. The County Commissioners of Cecil County, elected
|
|
|
|

on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of the
|
|
|
|

|
year eighteen hundred and ninety, one shall hold their said
|
|
|
|
County.
|
office as follows: The commissioners elected from the ninth
|
|
|
|
|
election district of said county, shall hold his office for the
|
|
|
|
|
term of two years from the date of his election ; the com-
|
|
|
|
|
missioner from the first district of said county shall hold his
|
|
|
|
|
office for the term of four years, and the commissioner from
|
|
|
|
|
the fifth district shall hold his office for the term of six years,
|
|
|
|
|
and all of said commissioners shall hold their said offices
|
|
|
|
|
until their successors are duly elected and qualified, on the
|
|
|
|
|
the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November, in the
|
|
|
|
|
year eighteen hundred and ninety-three, and every second
|
|
|
|
|
year thereafter there shall be elected by the qualified voters
|
|
|
|
|
of Cecil County one commissioner for the term of six years.
|
|
|
|
|
106 B. And for the purpose of supervision of the public
|
|
|
|
Super-
|
roads therein, Cecil County shall be divided into three com-
|
|
|
|
vision of
public
|
missioner's district as follows : The first, second and third
|
|
|
|
roads
|
election districts shall compose the first commissioner's dis-
|
|
|
|
|
trict; the fourth, fifth and seventh election districts shall
|
|
|
|
|
compose the second commissioner's district, and the sixth,
|
|
|
|
|
eighth and ninth election districts shall compose the third
|
|
|
|
|
commissioner's district ; and each of said commissioner's
|
|
|
|
|
|
