other cause, such money cannot be safely or reasonably
|
|
|
|
paid to any person or persons, it shall be lawful for the
|
|
|
|
mayor and city council to file a bill or petition in any Court
|
|
|
|
of Equity in the city or county where the property con-
|
|
|
|
demned, or any portion thereof, lies, and whenever such
|
|
|
|
court shall be satisfied for any of the persons aforesaid
|
|
|
|
that such money ought to be paid into such court, it shall
|
|
|
|
pass such decree as it shall deem proper, aud the payment
|
|
|
|
of any money into court under any such decree or order
|
|
|
|
shall be considered in all respects equivalent to a tender
|
|
|
|
therof to any person or persons entitled to such money and
|
|
|
|
who may be made a proper party to such proceeding.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall
|
|
|

CHAPTER 166.
|

|
AN ACT to repeal sections one, ten, twenty and twenty-
|
|
|
|
three of article two of the Code of Public Local Laws,
|
|
|
|
title "Anne Arundel," sub-title " Almshouse," and to re-
|
|
|
|
enact with amendments sections one and ten.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
Re-enacted
|
Maryland, That sections one, ten, twenty and twenty-three
|
|
|
with
|
of article two of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
|
|
|
amend-
ments.
|
" Anne Arundel County," sub-title "Almshouse," be and
|
|
|
|
the same are hereby repealed and that said sections one
|
|
|
|
and two be and the same are hereby re-enacted with
|
|
|
|
amendments so as to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
1. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
|
|
|
Trustees or
|
rat their first meeting in the month of January, or as soon
|
|
|
the poor of
Anne
|
thereafter as possible, in the year eighteen hundred and
|
|
|
Arundel
|
ninety-three and in each year thereafter, shall appoint
|
|
|
County.
|
seven discreet and proper persons, one from each election
|
|
|
|
district of said couuty, to be trustees of the poor of said
|
|
|
|
county ; aud the county commissioners for said county shall
|
|
|
|
at their first meeting in the month of April, eighteen
|
|
|
|
hundred and ninety-two, appoint seven discreet and proper
|
|
|
|
persons to be trustees of the poor of said county who shall
|
|
|
|
act as such trustees until their successors are duly appointed
|
|
|
|
and qualified as herein provided.
|
|
|
|
10. They, or a majority of them, shall meet together at
|
|
|
|
the almshouse in said county on the first Monday in Feb-
|
|
|
|
ruary, yearly, and at such other times as they shall deem
|
|
|
|
