SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Young Men's Christian Association of Baltimore, together

with their associates admitted into membership in said Asso-
|
|
|

ciation and their successors be and they are hereby consti-
|
|
|
|
tuted and continued a body corporate under the name of
|
|
|
|
"The Young Men's Christian Association of Baltimore"
|
|
|
|
and under such name shall have perpetual succession,
|
|
|

be capable to sue and be sued, to make and use a common

seal, to adopt a constitution for the regulation and manage-
|
|
|
|
ment of all its affairs, not inconsistent with law, and the
|
|
|
|
same to change, alter and amend from time to time, to
|

|
adopt rules and terms of admission into membership and
|
|
|
|
generally to do and perform all matters and things required
|
|
|
|
to carry into effect the objects of the association.

|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the objects of this cor-
|
|
|
|
poration shall be the improvement of the spiritual, physical,
|
|
|
|
mental, moral and social condition of young men by the
|
|
|

support and maintenance of lectures, educational classes,

|
|
libraries, reading rooms, gymnasias, social and religious
|
|
|
|
meetings and such other means as may tend to develop true
|
|
|
|
manhood.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said corporate body
|
|
|
|
hereby perpetuated and confirmed shall be managed and
|
|
|

the annual meeting in accordance with the constitution and

by-laws of the association.

The present Board of Directors shall continue in office

during the term for which they were elected aud assigned,

so that one-third of the said Board shall be elected yearly,
|

and hereafter at the annual meeting, which sliall be held on

the second Thursday of December of each year, or as soon
|
|
|
|
thereafter as practicable, there shall be chosen by ballot from
|
|
|
|
among the active members, seven directors to take the
|
|
|
|
place of those whose terms expire and said directors shall
|
|
|
|
serve for three years. All vacancies occasioned by death,
|
|
|
|
resignation or otherwise, shall be filled in accordance with
|
|
|
|
the constitution and by-laws of the Association. The said
