LAWS OF MARYLAND.


"Hagerstown," be and the same are hereby enacted and


added to said section one hundred and seventy-one A of


article twenty two of the Code of Public Local Laws, title


"Washington County," sub -title "Hagerstown."

To levy

171 B. The mayor and council of Hagerstown shall have

and are hereby vested with power and authority to contract

with any water company for the purpose of securing water


for the use of the citizens of the town and for use in case of


fire, and the mayor and council shall have and are hereby


vested with power and authority to levy taxes, in addition


to the amount now authorized by law, sufficient to meet the


requirement of any contract executed under the provisions


of this section.


171 C. The mayor and council of Hagerstown shall have
