AN ACT to repeal sections 230 and 231 of article 4 of the

Code of Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore,"

sub-title " Courts, " relating to court stenographers, and
|
|
|
|
to re-enact the same with amendments.
|
|
|
|
SECTION L. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That section two hundred and thirty and two
|
|
|
Repealed
and
|
hundred and thirty -one of article 4 of the Code of Public
|
|
|
re-enacted.
|
Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Courts,"
|
|
|
|
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, so" as
|
|
|
|
to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
SEC. 230. The Judges of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore
|
|
|
|
City are authorized and directed to appoint from time to
|
|
|

stenogra-
phers —
|
time as many court stenographers, not exceeding in number
altogether the number of said judges, as shall 'in their dis-
|
|
|

cretion be required for the services of the several courts of
|
|
|
|
Baltimore City, who shall be sworn officers of the court, and
|
|
|
|
shall each be paid a salary of fifteen hundred dollars per
|
|
|
|
annum, when such stenographers shall be required to attend
