and privileges granted to benevolent and charitable cor-


porations by the General Laws of the State of Maryland, in


such manner as the said trustees or a majority of them may


think proper, subject, nevertheless, to the control and direc-


tions of the Board of Managers hereinafter provided for as


to the disposition and application of the estate, property,


effects and funds which the said trustees shall so hold or


have in trust in virtue of this act.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Ann Grahame Ross,


Margaret S. Brunner, Anna E. Helfenstein, Margaret E. S.

Hood, Sara Andrew Shafer, Cornelia Ringgold Ross, Eleanor

Managers

Murdoch Johnson, Emma J. Smith, Virginia Markell Baker,


Agnes Fearhake, Ruth Gouverneur Johnson, Eleanor Mur-


doch Tyler, Rebecca B. Winebrener, Ann C. Kunkle, Caro-


line Matilda Markell, Amelia Mary Tyson, Mary E. McKin-


ney, Ellen Virginia Doll, Florence Trail and Willie Anna


Walker Stauffer be, and they are hereby constituted the


Board of Managers of said Society, and the said Board of


Managers or a majority of them on the death, resignation,


or disqualification of any of their own members or anyone


of the said trustees shall have full power to fill all vacan -


cies in their own board and in the Board of Trustees incor-


porated as aforesaid, so as to continue the succession of said


trustees.


And the said Board of Managers shall have full power to


elect one of their members president, and to elect and


appoint all other officers, agents and employees as they may

deem necessary ; to provide for the receipt and collection


of donations, contributions or other funds ; to provide for


the distribution or other application of all property, effects


and funds which they or the said Trustees shall receive or


obtain, to the payment of all necessary expenses which they


shall incur ; and generally to do all such lawful acts and


pass all such needful by-laws, rules, and regulations as shall


be necessary to the exercise of the powers vested in them by


this act, and to effect the benevolent object of their asso-


ciation.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
