of unloading tobacco brought by them; and that ample room shall


always in like manner be allowed on said wharf or pier free from


such charges for the shipment of tobacco from any of the said State


tobacco warehouses.


SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any lease intended to be


made under the provisions of this act shall be examined and ap-

proved by the attorney general of this State before the same is exe-
cuted, and shall contain the clauses and covenants usually con-


tained in leases of property in said city of Baltimore in so far as the


board of public works may deem such clauses and covenants appli-


cable, except a covenant for renewal of said lease.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take effect


from and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 120.


AN ACT to make valid deeds, mortgages, bonds of conveyance


and bills of sale defective in the acknowledgment or in the cer-


tificate thereof.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,


That section eighty-two, of article tAventy-one, of the Code of Pub-

follows :


82. All deeds, mortgages, bonds of conveyance and bills of sale


which have been executed and acknowledged, and are recorded in

dred and fifty-eight, chapter two hundred and eight, which may


not have been acknowledged according to the laws existing at the


time of said acknowledgment, or where the certificate of acknowl-


edgment is not in the prescribed form shall be and the same are


hereby made valid to all intents and purposes as if the said ac-


knowledgment and the certificate thereof had been in legal form ;


provided, that said deeds, mortgages, bonds, of conveyance and bills

of bona fide purchasers or creditors without notice who may have
