CHAPTER 595.

|
AN ACT to amend section two hundred and eight, of article ten,
|
|
|
|
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester county,"
|
|
|
|
sub-title "Liquors and Intoxicating Drinks," by adding certain
|
|
|
|
sub-sections thereto.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That section two hundred and eight, of article ten, of the Code
|
Amend.
|
|
|
of Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester county," sub-title
|
|
|
|
"Liquors and Intoxicating Drinks," be and the same is hereby
|
|
|
|
amended by adding the following sub-sections thereto.
|
|
|
|
SUB-SECTION 1. No cider shall be sold in any of the election
|
|
|
|
districts of Dorchester county, wherein the sale of whisky or other
intoxicating liquors is unlawful, except apple cider made in said

county from fruit grown or produced therein; and no apple cider
shall be sold in any of said election districts that has been
|
|
|
|
adulterated or affected with alcohol or intoxicating liquors or
|
|
|
|
with any drug whatsoever.
|
|
|
|
SUB-SEC. 2. No one shall be allowed to sell apple cider in any
|
|
|
|
of said election districts unless he shall first procure a license
|

from the clerk of the circuit court for said county, and shall take
|
|
|
|
the oath hereinafter prescribed.
|
|
|
|
SUB-SEC. 3. The board of school commissioners for said county
|
|
|
|
shall furnish to said clerk a sufficient number of blank licenses,
|
|
|
|
each license shall be numbered as it, is issued, and shall con-
|
|
|
|
tain the name of the person or firm procuring the same, the
|
|
|
|
name of the election district wherein the business is to be
|
|
|
|
carried on, and the date when the license begin a and ceases
|
|
|
|
to operate; each license shall begin to operate on the first
|

day of the month wherein it is issued and shall end on the first
|
licenses.

|
|
of May following, such license may be issued so as to operate for
|
|
|
|
one year from the first day of May in one year, and to the first
|
|
|
|
day of May in the.f ollowing year; the sum of twelve dollars shall
|
|
|
|
be paid for every license that is to operate for one year, but if
|
|
|
|
any person or firm ask a license after the first day of May in any
|
|
|
|
year, he shall pay at the rate of one dollar for each month it is
|
|
|
|
intended to operate to the first day of the following May; no
|
|
|
|
license shall be issued for the fraction of a month.
|
|
|
|
SUB-SEC. 4. On the first day of April and on the first day of
|
|
|
|
October in each year, the said clerk shall make a report to said
|
|
|
|
school commissioners as to the number of licenses issued and the
|

proceeds delivered therefrom; out of the amount received for
|
report.

|
|
each license the clerk shall retain fifty cents as a fee for his ser-
|
|
|
|
vices, and shall pay over the balance of the proceeds to the school
|
|
|
|
commissioners for the use of the public schools of the said county.

SUB-SEC. 5. The said school commissioners shall procure and
