CHAPTER 569.

AN ACT to give and grant the sanction and consent of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland to certain legacies and devises, to
and for the use of sundry religious sects, denominations, cor-
porations and powers, as contained in the will of Henry D.
Harvey, deceased, and which are enumerated in the body of this
act.
SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sanction and consent of the general assembly be and is
hereby granted and given to the following legacies and devises
contained in the last will of Henry D. Harvey, late of Baltimore
city, deceased, to wit : of the sum of one thousand dollars to the
Reverend Isaac N. Kendall, of Lincoln university, and in case of
his death, on the contingency named, the same to the Reverend
E. T. Jeffers, of the same university; of the sum of thirty-five
hundred dollars to the board of domestic missions of the general
assembly of the presbyterian church in the United States of

America, incorporated under the laws of the State of Pennsyl-
vania, for the purposes indicated; of the sum of fifteen hundred
dollars to the board of foreign missions of the presbyterian church
of the United States of America, incorporated under the laws of
the State of New York; of the sum of fifteen hundred dollars to
the trustees of the board of publication of the presbyterian church,
incorporated under the laws of Pennsylvania, for the purposes
indicated; of the sum of two thousand dollars to the presbyterian
fund for poor and disabled ministers of the presbyterian church ;
of the sum of two thousand dollars to the American bible society,
formed in New York in the year eighteen hundred and sixteen,
for the purposes indicated; of the sum of one thousand dollars to
the Maryland State bible society, instituted in eighteen hundred
and thirty-three, for the purposes indicated; of the sum of one
thousand dollars to the American tract society, instituted in the
city of New York; of the sum of one thousand dollars to the
Maryland tract society, auxiliary to the American tract society,
for the purposes indicated; of the sum of five hundred dollars to
the female house of refuge of Baltimore city; of the sum of five
hundred dollars to the Baltimore manual labor school for indi-
gent boys; of the sum of five hundred dollars to the boys' home
society of Baltimore city; of the sum of five hundred dollars to
the children's aid society of Baltimore city; of the sum of five
hundred dollars to the home of the friendless of Baltimore city ;
of the sum of five hundred dollars to the shelter for aged and in-
firm colored persons of Baltimore city; of the sum of one thou-
sand dollars to the Baltimore orphan asylum, Stricker street,
Baltimore city; of the sum of one thousand dollars to the union
protestant infirmary of the city of Baltimore; of the sum of three
