CHAPTER 563.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorize and direct the attorney-general of the State
|
|
|
|
to take such steps as may be necessary to obtain a decision of
|
|
|
|
the supreme court of the United States, which will settle the
|
|
|
|
controversy between the State of Maryland and West Virginia
|
|
|
|
concerning the true location of that portion of the boundary
|
|
|
|
line, between the two States, lying between Garrett county,
|
|
|
|
Maryland, and Preston county, West Virginia, and to appro-
|
|
|
|
priate a sum of money therefor.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the attorney-general of the State be and he is hereby author-
|
|

ized and directed to take as speedily as possible, such steps as

may be necessary to obtain a decision of the supreme court of the

of Maryland and West Virginia over and concerning, and which

will finally fix and determine the true location of that portion of
|
|

the boundary line between said States lying between Garrett
|
|
|
|
county in the State of Maryland and Preston county in the State
|
|
|
|
of West Virginia.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the sum of five hundred dollars
|
|
|
|
is hereby appropriated for the payment of the costs of said suit,
|
|
|

and on the certificate of the attorney-general, the comptroller

|
|

shall issue his warrant on the treasurer for the same or any part
|
|
|
|
thereof, and the treasurer shall pay the same out of any funds
|
|
|
|
not otherwise appropriated.

Effective.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
|
|
|
|
the date of its passage.
|
|
|

CHAPTER 565.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments sections twenty
|
|
|
|
three, of article seventy-two, of the Code of Public Genera
|
|
|
|
Laws of Maryland, title "Oysters," sub-title "The Oyster Fund/
|
|
|
|
so as to provide for the payment of fines collected under sec
|
|
|
|
tions one to forty-one, of said article, to the respective countie
|
|
|
|
or city where such fines shall accrue.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
|
|
|
|
That section twenty-three, of article seventy-two, of the Code of
|
|
|
Repeal.
|
Public General Laws, title "Oysters," sub-title "The Oyster
|
|
|
|
Fund," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
|
|
|
|
amendments so as to read as follows:
