SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That the treasurer of the State of Maryland, upon the warrants


of the comptroller of the treasury, who is hereby authorized


and directed to issue the same, be and he is directed to pay M. E.


Hill, the sum of thirty-three dollars; to J. L. Dawson, the sum


of thirty-one dollars; to S. B. M. Hayden, the sum of thirty-one


dollars; to Alien Lusby, the sum of sixty-eight dollars and thirty-


three cents; to B. A. Owings, the sum of thirty-four dollars and

fifty cents; to J. V. Eoach, the sum of ninety-eight dollars; to
S. M. Benton, the sum of one hundred dollars; to James Ireland,


the sum of thirty-five dollars and fifty cents; to James H. Wayson,


the sum of eighteen dollars and fifty cents; to S. M. Benton,


assignee of W. A. Shepherd, the sum of twenty-four dollars and


fifty cents; to S. M. Benton, assignee of J. T. Ward, the sum of


thirty-four dollars and fifty cents; to J. V. Eoach, assignee of


Walter Ealey, the sum of twenty dollars and fifty cents; to J. V.


Eoach, assignee of Thomas McCeney, the sum of thirty-eight dol-


lars; to Thomas E. Tanner, the sum of forty-three dollars and


fifty cents; to Edward Einehardt, the sum of thirty dollars;


Samuel Childs, the sum of forty dollars, and to G. E. Taulton,


the sum of eighteen dollars, or to their respective assignees or


attorneys, the same being due and unpaid services rendered as


employees of State tobacco warehouse number two, for the year


eighteen hundred and eighty-eight, under August Hall, inspector


of said warehouse.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 498.


AN ACT to repeal section fifty-nine, of article twenty-seven, of


the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, entitled "Crimes


and Punishments," sub-title " Destroying property maliciously,"


and to re-enact the same with amendments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

Repeal

That section fifty-nine, of article twenty-seven, of the Code of


Public General Laws of Maryland, be and the same is hereby re-


pealed and re-enacted, so as to read as follows :
