CHAPTER 485.


AN ACT to repeal and re-enact chapter one hundred and fifty-


two, of the acts passed at the January session eighteen hundred


and seventy-eight, entitled an act to repeal chapter four hun-


dred and twenty-nine, of the acts passed at January session


eighteen hundred and seventy-four, entitled an act to incorpor-


ate a company to construct a turnpike road from Hagerstown,


in Washington county, to the town of Sharpsburg, passed at the


January session eighteen hundred and fifty-three, chapter one


hundred and twenty-nine, and to re-enact the said section with


amendments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows :


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for the Hag-


erstown and Sharpsburg turnpike company to continue upon then-

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Hagerstown and Sharps-


burg turnpike company shall not charge at the said toll-gate now

upon all travel through said toll-gate which turns upon the said


manor road or comes from the said manor road, except that for


any such travel passing through said toll-gate, but once on any


day it shall be lawful for said turnpike company to charge at

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
