dred and eight, of the acts of the general assembly of eighteen


hundred and sixty-four to that of the Chappell chemical and


fertilizer company," and chapter one hundred and twenty-eight,


of the acts of the general assembly, passed at the January ses-


sion, eighteen hundred and eighty, entitled "an act to amend


the act of eighteen hundred and sixty-four, chapter one hun-


dred and eight, incorporating the south Baltimore chemical


works, by substituting the name of Thomas C. Chappell for that


of Philip S. Chappell, now deceased, as a corporator, commis-


sioner and director thereunder."


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section two


hundred and fifty-three, of article seventeen, of the Code of


Public Local Laws, title "Prince George's county," sub- title


"Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks."


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

the following terms : that each and every applicant, person, house,


corporation, company or association, shall be recommended to the


said clerk by five respectable free-holders, dwelling within a radius
of one mile from the place at which such business is to be carried
