CHAPTER 436.

AN ACT to refund to J. Thomas Webster and Margaret P.
|
|
|
|
Chesney, administrators of William H. Chesney, deceased, late
|
|
|
|
collector of State taxes in the second and sixth election dis-
|
|
|
|
tricts of Harford county, the sum of one hundred and thirty-
|
|
|
|
seven dollars heretofore erroneously paid by said William H.
|
|
|
|
Chesney into the treasury of the State.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That on the warrant of the comptroller the treasurer of the State
|
|
|
|
is hereby directed to pay to J. Thomas Webster and Margaret P.
|
|
|
|
Chesney, administrators of William H. Chesney, deceased, late
|
|
|
|
collector of State taxes in the second and sixth election districts
|
To pay.
|
|
|
of Harford county, the sum of one hundred and thirty-seven dol-
|
|
|
|
lars, being the amount due the said William H. Chesney on the
|
|
|
|
books of the comptroller for over-payment into the treasury of
|
|
|
|
the State, and which amount is by the said comptroller and treas-
|
|
|
|
urer recommended to be so paid.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
|

AN ACT entitled an act to repeal sections forty-six, sixty, sixty-
|
|
|
|
two and sixty-three, of article ten, of the Code of Public Local
|
|
|
|
Laws, title "Dorchester county," sub-title "Cambridge," and to
|
|
|
|
re-enact the same with amendments. .
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That sections forty-six, sixty, sixty-two and sixty-three, of article
ten, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester county,"
|

sub-title "Cambridge," be and the same are hereby repealed and
|
|
|
|
re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
SEC. 46. The town commissioners of Cambridge, in addition
|
|
|
|
to other duties provided in this charter, shall be and constitute a
|
|
|
|
board of police commissioners to serve without extra pay, and
|
|
|
|
they, or a majority of them, shall appoint on or about the
|

first day of October, of each and every year, not less than three
|
sioners.
|
|
|
sober, discreet and muscular men for policemen, whose term of
|
|
|
|
service shall be six months unless sooner discharged for inefficiency
|
|
|
|
or misconduct; the said police board, or a majority them, shall
|
|
|
|
fill all vacancies occasioned by resignation, death, discharge or
|
|
|
