and not collected by him, with notice that in case they are not

paid before the first Monday of March then next ensuing, he will
|
|

on that day proceed to offer for sale each parcel of land in respect

to which such default in payment of taxes shall have been
|

|
|
made; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, section one hundred and sixteen B of said article,
|
|
|
|
further provided that said treasurer shall on the first Monday of
|

March next thereafter proceed to sell accordingly; and

WHEREAS, it has been represented that because of the loose and
|
|
|
|
evil modes prevailing in former years, in respect to the collection
|
|
|
|
of taxes and financial matters of the county, and the consequent
|
|
|
|
impoverishment of the people, it may work hardship to them to
|

enforce the payment of the taxes of the present year's levy at so

early a date; now, therefore, to enable the people of said county
|
|
|

more easily to escape from the pernicious modes of a loose credit
|

system and establish themselves on a cash basis.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That in respect to the enforcement of payment of taxes levied in
|
|
|
|
March for the year eighteen hundred and ninety in the county of
|
|
|
|
Prince George's, the publication of list of taxes required by said
|
|
|
|
section one hundred and sixteen B, to be made on the second
|

Monday of January, eighteen hundred and ninety-one, shall be
|
|
|
|
made on the second Monday of March, eighteen hundred and
|
|
|
|
ninety-one, and the sale so advertised to be made shall be begun
|
|
|
|
continued and made on the first Monday of May, eighteen hun-
|
|
|
|
dred and ninety-one, and thereafter all proceedings shall be as
|
|
|
|
provided in said sections and other sections of the act, chapter
|
|
|
|
one hundred and thirty-seven of the laws of the general assembly
|
|
|
|
of the session of eighteen hundred and ninety.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
|

AN ACT to amend article seventeen, of the Code of Public Gen-

eral Laws of Maryland, entitled "Clerks of Courts," by adding

|
|

thereto an additional section to be designated "Section two A."

|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That article seventeen, of the Code of Public General Laws of
|
Repealed.
|
|
|
Maryland, entitled "Clerks of Courts," be and the same is hereby
|
|
|
|
amended by adding thereto an additional section to be designated
|
|
|
|
"Section two A," and to read as follows :
