SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

SEC. 8. That said company shall be and they are hereby in-

advantages which are held and possessed by the turnpike road


company, incorporated by an act passed at November session,
eighteen hundred and twelve, entitled an act to incorporate a com-


pany to make a turnpike road from the district of Columbia to


the city of Baltimore, and be entitled to the same tolls, except so


far as said last named act by the thirteenth section thereof, pro-

hibits the Bel Air turnpike company from charging any person


or persons living on or adjacent to the said road, within three


miles from its toll-gate or turnpike, any toll for the passing of


said gate more than once in twenty-four hours, and the said turn-


pike company is hereby authorized to charge any person or per-


sons for passing through its gate, without reference to his or their


living adjacent thereto or within three miles thereof, or of said


turnpike road.


SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the following section
