CHAPTER 249.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to exempt the property devised by the late Hester Ann
|
|
|
|
Ridout of the city of Annapolis to establish a "Home" for desti-
|
|
|
|
tute, aged and infirm women from the payment of the "Col-
|
|
|
|
lateral Inheritance Tax."
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, the late Hester Ann Ridout by her will left certain
|
|
|
|
real and personal estate to trustees for the establishment of a
|
|
|
|
"Home" for destitute, aged and infirm women which she also
|
Preamble.
|
|
|
designed to endow for its permanent support and maintenance,
|
|
|
|
but by reason of her sudden death she was prevented from making
|
|
|
|
such endowment; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, by reason thereof the said charity has been left
|
|
|
|
destitute of all present means and is unable to pay the "Collateral
|
Preamble.
|
|
|
Inheritance Tax" for which it is liable under the existing laws ;
|
|
|
|
therefore,
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the property devised and bequeathed to the "Chase Home
|
|
|
|
Charity," by the last will and testament of the late Hester Ann
|

|
|
Ridout of Annapolis, be and the same shall be exempt and re-
|
|
|
|
leased, and hereby is released and exempted from .the payment of
|
|
|
|
the "Collateral Inheritance Tax" due the State thereon.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
|

AN ACT to add an additional section to article four, of the Code

of Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title

|
|
"Criminal Court," to be designated as "Section one hundred

|

and ninety-four A."
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,

|
