CHAPTER 249.


AN ACT to exempt the property devised by the late Hester Ann


Ridout of the city of Annapolis to establish a "Home" for desti-


tute, aged and infirm women from the payment of the "Col-


lateral Inheritance Tax."


WHEREAS, the late Hester Ann Ridout by her will left certain


real and personal estate to trustees for the establishment of a


"Home" for destitute, aged and infirm women which she also

designed to endow for its permanent support and maintenance,


but by reason of her sudden death she was prevented from making


such endowment; and


WHEREAS, by reason thereof the said charity has been left


destitute of all present means and is unable to pay the "Collateral

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,
