CHAPTER 246.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the German bank of Baltimore

city in respect to its directors.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the number of directors of the German bank of Baltimore

city may be changed from time to time by the stockholders, pro-

vided said number shall at no time be less than five nor more

than twelve, and any stockholder who is also a citizen of this

State shall be eligible as and may be elected a director in said

corporation, and the stockholders may from time to time deter-

mine what shall constitute a quorum of the board for the trans-

action of business.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 248.

AN ACT to authorize the county commissioners of Kent county

to borrow the sum of five thousand dollars for the purpose of

. paying cash for work on the public road, and to provide for the

payment of the same by levy in the year eighteen hundred and

ninety.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the county commissioners of Kent county are hereby author-

ized to borrow the sum of five thousand dollars, at a rate not ex-

ceeding six per cent, per annum, and to execute their note or

bond as county commissioners therefor, and said commissioners

are hereby directed and authorized to levy at once upon-the nego-

tiation of said loan on the assessable property of said county, a.

sum of money necessary to pay said five thousand dollars and the

interest thereon, and the money so borrowed shall be used by said

county commissioners to pay cash for work on the public roads

of said county during the year eighteen hundred and ninety and

account therefor in their annual account of the expenses of the

county.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

the date of its passage.
