CHAPTER 240.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money for introducing steam
|
|
|
|
radiators into the old library of the State house and for repair-
|
|
|
|
ing said library.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the sum of three hundred dollars or so much thereof as may
|
|
|
|
be necessary, be and the same hereby is appropriated out of any
money in the State treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the
|

purpose of introducing into the old library of the State house
|
|
|
|
steam-heating radiators and for repairing and renovating the roof,
|
|
|
|
ceiling and other portions of said library, to be expended under
|
|
|
|
the direction and supervision of the State librarian.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the treasurer of the State, on
|
|
|
|
the warrant of the comptroller, be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to disburse said sum of money hereby appropriated for
|

the objects and purposes herein specified, to or upon the order of
|
|
|
|
the person or persons certified by the State librarian to be en-
|
|
|
|
titled to receive the same.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

CHAPTER 241.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT appropriating the sum of money therein mentioned to
|
|
|
|
refund to Virginia C. Massie, administratrix of John W. Massie,
|
|
|
|
late of Baltimore city, deceased, being certain moneys by him
|
|
|
|
erroneously paid to the register of wills of Baltimore city, as
|
|
|
|
executor of Winfield M. Simpson, of Baltimore city, deceased,
|
|
|
|
as the State tax on executors' commissions, in pursuance of
|
|
|
|
article eighty-one, section ninety-seven, of the Code of Public
|
|
|
|
General Laws of the State of Maryland.
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, it appears by the auditor's account "A," ratified
|
|
|
|
and confirmed in the case of Mary V. Massie, et. al., in the cir-
|
|
|
|
cuit court of Baltimore city, docket "A," eighteen hundred and
|

|
|
|
eighty-eight, page one hundred and ninety-seven, that John W.
|
|
|
|
Massie, as executor of Winfield M. Simpson, deceased, erroneously
|
|
|
|
paid to the register of wills of Baltimore city the sum of sixty-
|
|
|
|
nine dollars and eight cents, being a tax on commissions in ac-
|
|
|
|
cordance with section ninety-seven, of article eighty-one, of the
|
|
|
|
Code of Public General Laws of the State of Maryland, and which
|
|
|
|
said sum has been covered into the treasury of the State; and
