public and private, and said bodies shall be distributed to and


among the same equitably, the number assigned to each being pro-


portioned to that of its students; provided, however, that if any


person claiming to be and satisfying the proper authorties that


he is of kindred to the deceased or that he was a friend to de-


ceased during life, shall ask to have the body for burial it shall


be surrendered for interment, or if such deceased person was a


stranger or traveler who died suddenly the body shall be buried


and not handed over as aforesaid; any public officer of Baltimore


city and county having charge of or control over the bodies of the
deceased persons required to be buried at the public expense, or


at the expense of any institution supported by said city or county
who shall neglect or refuse to comply with the requirements of


this act shall be guilty of a misdeameanor, and shall, upon con-


viction, be fined not less than fifty nor more than one hundred


dollars for each and every offense.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

CHAPTER 167.


AN ACT to repeal section one hundred and seventy-five, of arti-


cle one, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title " Allegany


county," sub-title "Intoxicating Liquors," making punishable


any minor under twenty-one years of age who shall purchase or


procure any spirituous or fermented liquors from any liquor


dealer or his agent in Allegany county.


SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That section one hundred and seventy-five, of article one of the
