SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 65.

AN ACT to authorize the Baltimore and Cumber-

land Valley Railway Company to consolidate with

the Baltimore and Cumberland Valley Railroad

Company, or with it and certain other corpora-

tions hereafter to be chartered by the State of

Pennsylvania, and to lease the railroad now owned

by the Baltimore and Cumberland Valley Rail-

way Company, and the line which may be here-

after owned by said consolidated company or com-

panies, and to contract for the sale of the same,

and for the making of arrangements for pro-

rating between the companies.

WHEREAS a line of railway is now in course of

construction by the Baltimore and Cumberland Val-

ley Railway Company, from a point on the line of

the Western Maryland Railroad to the Pennsylva-

nia State line in Washington county, Maryland,

from which last named point another line is in course

of construction to the vicinity of Waynesboro, in

Preamble.

the State of Pennsylvania, by the Baltimore and
Cumberland Valley Railroad Company, a corpora-

tion chartered by the State of Pennsylvania, and it

is likely that one or more other companies will be

chartered by said State of Pennsylvania, for the pur-

pose of constructing a continuous line of railway

from the last-named terminus of said last-mentioned

railway to or in the direction of Shippensburg,

Pennsylvania.
