SEC. 10. And be it enacted. That all acts or parts
of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act

be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 43.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to amend the charter the Franklin Bank of
|
|
|
|
Baltimore and to provide for a change of the corpor-
|
|
|
|
ate name of the same from the President and Di-
|
|
|
|
rectors of the Franklin Bank of Baltimore to the
|
|
|
|
Corn Exchange Bank of Baltimore.
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS at a general meeting of the stockholders
|
|
|
|
of the Franklin Bank of Baltimore, convened con-
|
|
|
|
formably to its charter, the president and di-
|
|
|
|
rectors of the same were directed to apply to the
|
|
|
|
General Assembly for certain alterations of its char-
|
|
|
|
ter whereby the par value of its shares of stock
should be reduced to eight dollars per share, and
|
|
|
|
the number of said shares reduced to forty thousand
|
|
|
|
by the cancellation of certain of them heretofore
|
|
|
|
bought and now held by the said corporation ; and
|
|
|

further, that each share of stock should be entitled
|
|
|
|
to one vote at all meetings of stockholders and elec-
|
|
|
|
tions of directors. And whereas it has been thought
|
|
|
|
desirable to have further alterations made in said
|
|
|
|
charter whereby the name of said corporation may
|
|
|
|
be changed to " The Corn Exchange Bank of Balti-
|
|
|
|
more," and the president and directors may at any
|
|
|
|
time hereafter, in such manner as they may pre-
|
|
|
|
scribe, call in the outstanding shares of stock at the
|
|
|
|
reduced par value of eight dollars, and give in lieu
|
|
