are hereby empowered, if a majority of them, in

|
their judgment, shall deem it expedient and neces-
|
|
|
|
|
sary for the public convenience, to erect, build and
|
|
|
|
|
extend a pier out in the Annemessex river, not ex-
|
|
|
|
|
ceeding one hundred and fifty feet from the termin-
|
|
|
|
|
ation of the public road at the public wharf in said
|
|
|
|
|
town ; provided the same shall not interfere with
|
|
|
|
|
navigation of said river.
|
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
|
|
|
|
|
sioners be and they are hereby authorized and em-
|
|
|
|
|
powered, after thev have concluded to erect and ex-
|

tend said pier, to levy upon the assessable property
|
erection.
|
|
|
|
of said town a sum necessary for the erection of said
|
|
|
|
|
pier ; provided the same shall not exceed the sum of
five hundred dollars.

CHAPTER 343.
|
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to provide for the granting of licenses to
|
|
|
|
|
brokers in horses in the city of Baltimore, and to
|
|
|
|
|
regulate the mode of carrying on the business of
|
|
|
|
|
brokerage in horses in said city.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That any person, copartnership or
|
|
|
|
|
firm applying for the same, and paying the sum of
fifty dollars, may obtain a license for carrying on the
|
|
|
|
|
business of broker in horses in the citj of Baltimore;
|
|
|
|
|
provided that all the names and the places of busi-
|

ness of the copartnership, in any copartnership or
firm applying for a license, shall be inserted in the
|
house brokers
|
|
|
|
license, and if the copartnership or firm is composed
|
|
|
|
|
of more than two copartners, then an additional sum
|
|
|
|
|
of twenty-five dollars shall be paid for each copartner
|
|
|
|
|
above the number of two.
