or their place of business, any spirituous or fermented


liquors or intoxicating drinks of any kind, cider and


home-made wine, the proportion of alcohol in which


does not exceed fifteen per cent., excepted, in any


election district of said county wherein a majority


of the votes has thus been cast against the sale of


spirituous or fermented liquors, nor shall any license


be issued or granted for the sale of the same in any


of said election districts in said county, on or after


the first day of May, in the year eighteen hundred


and eighty-one.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if any person or


persons, or body corporate, shall sell directly or indi-


rectly at any place, or give away at his, her or their


place of business, any fermented or spirituous liquors


or intoxicating drinks of any kind, cider and home-


made wine, the proportion of alcohol in which does


not exceed fifteen per cent., excepted, in any of said


election districts wherein a majority of the votes has


been thus cast against the sale of spirituous or fer-


mented liquors, on or after the first day of May, in


the year eighteen hundred and eighty-one, he, she

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
