Lands," as amended and re-enacted by chapter four

hundred and seventy-eight, passed at January session,
eighteen hundred and seventy-eight, be and the same
is nereby repealed and amended and re-enacted so
|
|
|
|
|
as to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 70. All persons through whose lands such
|
|
|
|
|
ditches shall be laid out, or whose lands are in the
|
|
|
|
|
neighborhood of, and drain into the same, and who
|
|
|
|

will derive benefit therefrom, shall contribute to the
|
|
|
|
cost
|
cost and expense of making the same ; and the said
|
|
|
|
|
commissioners shall adjudge thereof, and shall assess
|
|
|
|
|
(by way of tax) upon such persons respectively, a
|
|
|
|
|
sum proportional to the advantages they may receive.
|
|
|
|
|

CHAPTER 276.
AN ACT to authorize the Elkton and Middletown
Rail Road Company of Cecil county to lease or
purchase, or form a union and consolidation with
the Elkton and Middletown Rail Road, contem-
plated to be built from the Delaware Rail Road
in the State of Delaware to the State line dividing
the States of Delaware and Maryland, and to con-
nect the tracks of the Elkton and Middletown
Rail Road of Cecil county with the tracks of the
said Elkton and Middletown Rail Road, contem-
plated to be built, and with the tracks of the
Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Rail-
road Company at or near the town of Elkton, in
Cecil county, in the State of Maryland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Elkton and Middletown
Rail Road Company of Cecil county be and are
