	Clerk of the Circuit Court for Dorchester county,
	but the commissioners may extend the limits there-
	of, and may lay out streets, lanes and alleys wherever
	they may think proper, and shall return a plot of
	such extension to the clerk of the circuit court ; pro-
	vided that wherever such limits have heretofore
	been, or hereafter may be extended, and the plot
	and certificate have been, or may be recorded among
	the records of the commissioners, a copy of said
	plot and certificate from said commissioners' records,
	under the hand and seal of the clerk of the com-
	missioners, may be filed with the clerk of said cir-	File with
	cuit court in lieu of the originals, and a copy thereof,	clerk.

	legal evidence of the limits of said town, as other
	matters or things set forth in such copy of the plot
	or certificate aforesaid, in any court of this State.

	CHAPTER 240.
	AN ACT to provide for indexing the Land .Records
	of Queen Anne's county.
	SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
	bly of Maryland, That the clerk of the Circuit
	Court for Queen Anne's county be and he is hereby
	authorized to cause a general index to the Land
	Records in his office, from the year eighteen hundred	General in-
