CHAPTER 21.

AN ACT to repeal section one of article sixty-seven
|
|
|
|
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
|
|
|
|
Notaries Public, and to re-enact the same with
|
|
|
|
amendments.
|

|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assem-
|
|
|
Repealed and
re-enacted.
|
bly of Maryland, That section one of article sixty-
seven of the Code of Public General Laws, title
|
|
|
|
"Notaries Public," be and the same is hereby repeal-
|
|
|
|
ed and re-enacted to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
1. The Governor, by and with the advice and
|
|
|

consent of the Senate, shall appoint and commission
|
|
|
taries Public.
|
a competent number of persons of known good char-
|
|
|
|
acter, integrity and abilities, citizens of the United
|
|
|
|
States, and who have resided in this State two years
|
|
|
|
previous to their appointment as Notaries Public
|
|
|
|
for the State of Maryland, to reside in such place or
|
|
|
|
places within this State as the Governor shall in and
|
|
|
|
by their respective commissions designate; but there
shall not be at any time more than ten Notaries ap-
|
|
|
|
pointed and commissioned to reside within the city
|
|
|
|
of Baltimore, on e of whom shall be conversant with
|
|
|
|
the German language.

|
Effective.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
|
|
|
effect from the date of its passage.
